Home is Here NOLA
Founded in 2021, Home Is Here NOLA is a grassroots nonprofit organization that cultivates systems of support with and for newly arriving immigrants and those impacted by immigration detention in the Gulf South. We believe democratizing resources is a part of the movement for immigrant justice and abolition. We believe in a culture of partnership, collective liberation, and belonging where everyone has a valued place and power. Home is Here builds alternative community infrastructure for those who arrive without family or community support and are criminalized, incarcerated, and excluded from government-funded systems. Our work focuses on organizing around the areas that our immigrant communities say they value most: Legal Aid; Housing and Relationships.
