Taking more than one service learning class?
KEEP TRACK OF YOUR TIME:
To record Service Learning time you must use the digital timesheet to log and document your service learning activity. This includes time you spend at or online with the service site, researching, gathering information, meetings regarding the project, and executing aspects of your service learning. The timesheet requires a student to enter the start and end time of each service experience as well as a description of the task performed. Completed time logs are due twice per semester at midterm, February 28, and by the final day of class, May 2 for review and verification. Any time submitted after these dates will not be considered for service learning credit. If you have any problems or questions, please reach out right away to ttjasper@loyno.edu.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE:
Students will demonstrate their ability to be real word problem solvers and communicate arguments supported by empirical evidence by taking on the role of citizen scientists. They will achieve this by designing, creating and communicating cancer information (through games, hands on activities, fun infographics etc.) to middle and high school students with the overarching goal of increasing youth cancer literacy to fight cancer fear and fatalism and empower the youth to make informed choices about modifiable cancer risk factors.
